Dr. Andreea L. Cretu is a strategy and innovation leader working at the intersection of science, entrepreneurship, and research translation. Trained in biomedical engineering and neuroscience, she completed her PhD at ETH Zurich before moving into strategy consulting and later returning to academia to support researchers in translating scientific discoveries into real-world applications.
At the University of Zurich, Andreea leads the BioMed Entrepreneurship programs (including the BioEntrepreneurship & Innovation (BEI) program and UZH IncubatorLab), where she develops initiatives supporting researchers and clinicians along the path from scientific discovery to clinical and commercial translation. Her work brings together stakeholders across academia, healthcare, industry, investment, and the broader innovation ecosystem. In 2026, she was named one of Switzerland's Top 100 Digital Shapers by BILANZ, Handelszeitung, PME and digitalswitzerland, in recognition of her role as a mentor and connector in the innovation ecosystem.
Andreea is particularly passionate about building the connections and structures that allow promising ideas to move forward. At Hopewell, she supports the Foundation in innovation strategy, ecosystem development, stakeholder engagement, and initiatives that bring together patients, researchers, clinicians, and partners around shared needs and opportunities.
